F1          Affordable ARF racing for experienced pilots

(1) Aircraft: Accepted ARFs:

  • Seagull Nemesis 120 Seagull Cassutt 120 Hangar 9 Sundowner

 

Performance enhancing modifications or alterations to external shape not allowed, including changing shape of surfaces or thinning trailing edges. Cut outs in cowl for engine, muffler, cooling and air intake only allowed. Fixed main undercarriage (no retracts) that is supplied with ARF, including spats. Leg length may be shortened up to 35mm and wheels may be substituted for another type of equal size to that supplied in the kit.

 

It is recommended but not compulsory to upgrade the firewall with aircraft/marine grade plywood and plywood doublers installed within the engine box. The standard alloy tube suppled with Seagull Cassutt is not strong enough and will not be accepted, unless internally strengthened or replaced with a sufficient substitute like carbon fibre. Pilot bust and minimum 3 instruments required

Radio system: 2.4 GHZ, 1700mAh RX battery minimum. One servo per control surface Minimum torque rating of 4.5kgcm (69oz-in). Elevators cannot be joined to make them 1 surface.

                                                

(2) Engine: Up to 63cc, engine modifications allowed

(3) Fuel: Petrol/Oil mix only (No methanol or nitro).

(4) Muffler: Expansion or canister (non-performance enhancing) and should be majority hidden in cowl.

 

(5) Prop:  Any MAAA legal prop.
